Q) Hey Joey, First of all we are Duck fans and watched you during your college career. We've kept up with you over the years and are excited for your opportunity with Atlanta. We want to know two things - what inspired you to be a quarterback? And what is more pressure: the fans or the defensive line? Emily, Jack and Smyth England

--Kate Eng - Beaverton, OR
A) I guess I really was influenced by the quarterbacks I watched growing up like Elway, Montana and Marino. My father was a QB at the University of Oregon and later a high school coach and he coached me during my youth football days. That was a good start to learning the position. Actually, the most pressure is the pressure I put on myself. Most pro athletes will tell you that.
Q) Hey Joey, Crazed Oregon Duck fan here, we always get excited with anticipation this time of year with season opener for the Ducks just around the corner and training camp for the NFL. We just wish you many years of success with this new franchise and will be looking forward to catching a game when they come to the West Coast. Go Ducks!

--Sandy Hart - Glide, OR
A) Nice to hear from Oregon fans. I think the closest we get this year to the West Coast is Arizona.
Q) Joey, I've been a Dolphins fan for 24 years, but last year I also became a Joey Harrington fan. I am thrilled that you'll have a chance to start in Atlanta. I will be cheering for the Falcons, because I'll be pulling for you! I hope the city of Atlanta realizes what a great man they have in you, on the field and, just as importantly, off the field. Have a great year Joey!!! Will you offer a jersey this year on your website? I'd love to have a #13 Joey jersey. Dawn

--Dawn Creal - Reston, VA
A) Thank a lot for the email. Yes, the website is in the process of adding Falcom items to the foundation store - hats, game shoes, helmets and jerseys. They should all be in by mid to late August. We will have photos once we start the preseason games.
Q) Joey, As a fellow duck out of water I have been missing getting all the Oregon coverage like we are used to in Eugene. You were the QB for Oregon my first few years down here and it was very exciting to watch as the Oregon program did so well. After you graduated and moved on I began following your progress in the NFL. I have continued believe in the good 'ol Oregon roots shining through. I began following the games as religiously as the Oregon games and was just as excited for a win and pretty blue for a loss. I was elated when I found out about Musgrave being in Atlanta to coach you. Blessings on you, your family and your season. Derek Lynn Pasadena, CA

--Derek Lynn - Rosemead, CA
A) It was fun to connect with Bill Musgrave after all these years of the Oregon connection. I am looking forward to playing for Coach Petrino and Bill as my QB coach.
Q) Joey as a Lions fan, I am so happy to see you given this oppurtunity to start in the NFL again, I thought you did a fine job with the Dolphins. The Falcons are a even a better team so this works out for you. You are one the true good guys in this league and I have a strong feeling you will find a lot of sucess in Atlanta, good luck! -Jimmy

--Jimmy Kemp - Royal Oak, MI
A) Thanks for the note, Jimmy. There are a lot of really good guys in the NFL. Unfortunately, you don't always hear a lot about them. The NFL has an Man of the Year award ceremony every year where they honor the player that is nominated by each team for his work in the community. It's really a nice gesture.
Q) What's up Joey? I wish you the best of luck in the upcoming season; and for the rest of your career. I have a great level of respect for you, and I believe that the Lions were utterly incorrect for sending you away. I know its not really a question but I just wanted to give you some words of encouragement. Take care & God bless!!

--Eric Weston - Flint, MI
A) Thanks a lot. I have moved past Detroit and am really happy to be in Atlanta.
Q) Joey, as a lifelong Falcon's fan and season ticket holder, I've been scrambling to find out as much as possible about our new starting QB. I like what I see. You are a breath of fresh air compared to the recent drama we've had to deal with. You are exactly what this city needs. It's obvious that you understand the gifts that god has blessed you with and don't take them for granted as so many do. I wish you and your family all the best this year. I'll be in the stands every gameday rooting for you..win or lose. Welcome to Atlanta!!

--brian crawford - winder, GA
A) Thanks for the support, Brian. I am really looking forward to playing for Coach Petrino and I am impressed with the guys I have met on the team since I have come to Atlanta. Once we can get on the field I think we will be just fine as a team.
Q) Joey; Welcome to Atlanta. We are excited to have you with our Atlanta Falcons. We hope that your stay with the Falcon's organization will be long term. Wish you a successful year and many to come. Doug

--Doug Glaze - Cumming, GA
A) Thanks Doug for the email. I have received quite a few supportive emails like yours but can only answer some quickly. We are really impressed with the city of Atlanta so far and are having fun finding our way around. I have relatives here and even a high school classmate with whom I have reconnected. I am really looking forward to being a Falcon and being a part of this team.
Q) Hey Joey, now that your 2nd cousin Padraig Harrington has won the British Open, did you call him up and congratulate him?

--Jim Allen - Howell, MI
A) Our whole family was watching the Open at my parents' house. The phone was ringing from other friends and relatives during the last hour of the tournament. It was really a roller coaster ride watching Padraig catch up, take the lead, lose it on the 18th and then win in a playoff. I will probably talk with Padraig later in the week although my youngest brother texted Ronan, his caddy. My dad heard from Ireland by email late Sunday. They said the pubs were rocking in the home town of Ardgroom. It was a great win for a really great guy!
Q) Joey, Not a question but I thought you should know that I dressed up as you for Halloween last year. I once got a comment that I looked like you, and they compared two pictures where we look very similar, so now I am the proud owner of a Joey Harrington jersey. I added a little flair with eye black with Reggie Bush style area codes from Oregon!

--alex gershen - Walnut Creek, CA
A) I remember dressing up in my football uniform when I was in grade school on Halloween. I thought that was pretty cool although I didn't have the zip code eye black when I was your age!
