Q) What made you choose USC over Michigan in the Rose Bowl picks?

--Melissa Gordon - Saline, AK
A) I saw Michigan get beat by the Ducks. USC was the Pac-10 champion. I saw no better team in the country than USC this year.
Q) Hey Joey I just like to say your amazing and because of you I want to go to Oregon and try and go pro playing football I would just like to ask what was the most challenging thing you overcame to get where you are today and did you do anything special in junior high or high school to help improve your quarterbacking skills

--nick wilder - Arlington Heights, IL
A) First of all, I want to say, don't go to college to try to play pro football. College is about getting an education. If the football piece works out, take advantage of it and enjoy it while you have the chance. There will come a time when you will no longer be able to play football but you will have an education forever. Secondly, learning the fundamentals of the game is the best way to prepare for any sport. That's what my dad taught me when he was my coach in 5th-8th grade and he was right.
Q) Good Luck Sunday against the Rams, but more importantly here's to getting the team healthy! You've said what your Thanksgiving traditions are, but I'm wondering if there are more that surround Christmas?

--Stephanie Bahr - Wauwatosa, WI
A) Like most holidays growing up, we always went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house. Grandpa would bless the Christmas tree and, when I was younger, Grandma would make a big dinner. However, now that I'm out in Detroit and away from family, they decided to come out here and join me. I anticipate that we will start a few traditions of our own over the next couple years but right now it's all new. This year was nice because we had the first white Christmas that I can remember.
Q) Hi Joey! Sorry for you loss in KC today. I am a Chiefs fan but I really enjoy watching you play! I know Arrowhead Stadium can be a loud place to play so my question is where is the toughest stadium to walk into and play at?

--Megan Amos - Lawrence, KS
A) Arrowhead was tough for many reasons, the biggest being the Chiefs were very good. However the volume of a stadium really doesn't bother me anymore. I've played in many stadiums where it was so loud you couldn't even hear the person standing next to you. At Oregon you couldn't have a conversation on the sideline if our defense was on the field. In college I played at Camp Randall at the University of Wisconsin which was a lot of fun and in the NFL the Metrodome in Minnesota and Arrowhead are the loudest I've traveled to. However, when we get rolling, I think Ford Field is going to be a pretty loud one too.
Q) I thought it was too bad that you and Jason Mraz didn't win that musician/player collaboration contest. I was at that concert in June and you both sounded amazing. Any plans for another Acoustic Night of Music?

--Melissa Angle - Clackamas, OR
A) Plans for a concert next year are in the works. It will be around the same time as last year (end of June, beginning of July). We're trying to work on growing it slowly every year so hopefully this year's will be bigger and better.
Q) Joey, I want to commend your foundation's commitment to every child's education. As someone who discovered a love of reading at an early age, I was wondering if you had a favorite book as a child and if you have one now as an adult?

--Elizabeth Logan - Houston, AK
A) I don't know if I can narrow it down to one book because my mom and dad read to me so much when I was younger. I was always a fan of The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, Curious George and, as I got a little older, I got hooked on Charlotte's Web. Now I read all kinds of books. I'm currently in the middle of Charles Barkley's new book and I just finished Mitch Albom's new one called The Five People You Meet in Heaven. It was terrific. I usually read a book or two every summer and during the off season.
Q) Hi Joey. Congratulations on the Thanksgiving win! I know it must be difficult to be so far away from your family during the holidays. What's your favorite holiday tradition?

--Sarah Flynn - Dearborn, MI
A) It is tough to be away from my family, especially on Thanksgiving. That was always my favorite holiday with my family. However one of my favorite family traditions came after Thanksgiving. Every year growing up my family would get together and go out to cut down Christmas trees. It seems very simple but it was always fun to get together with all my aunts, uncles and cousins.
Q) I was so excited about the Lion's win on Thanksgiving!!!!!I hope your visit back here was restful and good luck to you against San Diego. I am still curious as to how you go about signing all of the sports memorabilia. Do you give yourself an hour and just sign, or do you give yourself a quota( 50 helmets and 50 magazines today)?????? Oregon is very proud of you. Please, keep the positive attitude. It is very refreshing.

-- Anne Anderson - Portland, AK
A) For the most part, I sign sports memorabilia twice yearly for our foundation. I'd rather do it all at once even though it's several hundred items. There's a photo on this website that shows all the inventory that I signed last summer.
Q) Joey, Hey! You totally rock at playing piano, when did you start playing? Also, great win on Thanksgiving.

--Kami Laffey - Prosser, WA
A) I started playing by the Suzuki method (playing by ear) at age five. I took classical piano from second grade through fifth grade. In sixth grade, I switched to jazz piano and played in several combos in middle school and high school. Thanks.
Q) Congratulations Joey on the great Thanksgiving game! Now that the season is winding down what do you do in the off season? Good Luck against San Diego!

--Robert Evans - Bozeman, MT
A) Thanks, it was nice to get one against the Packers. When the season ends I will go home for a little while. I have some catching up to do with my family. However my break is short lived. I'll be back in Detroit a little later in the winter getting ready for next season. The thing most people don't realize is that this is a full time job. There's a lot of film to watch and a lot of working out to do when I get back in town if I expect to make the playoffs next year.
