Q) Joey, When will we expect you back in Autzen again to watch a game?We are looking forward to your 2005-2006 year with the Lions, this is your year. GO LIONS and GO DUCKS P.S. USC is in our house this year :)

--Sam Galaviz - Medford, OR
A) I watch as many Duck games as I can on TV but I haven't been able to see a game in Autzen since my first year with the Lions. When I have my bye week I try to get to my brother's game if I can. Mike plays QB for Idaho and is a senior this fall. I haven't looked that far ahead yet but I do know our bye weekend is September 25.
Q) Joey, I lived in Ireland for a while and heard that you are related to the golfer Padraig Harrington. Do you intend to visit your relatives there? If so, you shouldn't miss out on any counties on the west coast. Also, without a doubt, this is certain to be your year to shine. Good luck!

--Bonnie Hockenberry - Mount Joy, PA
A) I have had a chance to visit my relatives in Ireland who are primarily in West Cork in two small towns - Eyeries and Ardgroom. Padraig and I have become good friends over the past few years and I have had a chance to stay with him and his family as well. It's a beautiful country that reminds me so much of Oregon where I am from. The people are tremendous!
Q) Joey, After A very surprising 1st round pick with Mike Williams you could have the best reciver group in the NFL. And arguably one of the best Offense in the NFC now. My question is what was you're reaction when you found out the lions drafted another star reciver in the first round Mike Williams.

--Brian Sipe - Mt.Vernon, IL
A) I wasn't sure who we would draft since at #10 it's difficult to know who would be available. I had heard rumors that we were very interested in Mike Williams if he was still on the board. Mike should be a great addition to the Lions and certainly a great addition to our group of receivers. I am really excited to have him as a Lion and I am looking forward to working out with him this spring.
Q) Hey Joey, I live in Michigan and I am a huge Lions Fan... My question is what are you looking forward to most this season? And what kind of player would you prefer the Lions draft in the first round this year offense or defense? Dan Taylor Muskegon, MI

--Dan Taylor - Muskegon, MI
A) It would be great if we can go a season without serious injuries to key players. Injuries are a big factor for every team but it seems like in the past few years we have had more than our fair share. Drafting #10 this Saturday is a bit different than the last two years. You aren't quite as sure who is going to be there when it comes your turn. I have faith that the front office will pick someone with the best interests of the team in mind. Offense or defense, I don't have a strong feeling either way.
Q) Hello Joey, I have been a Lion fan all of my life, and I'm 26. I have seen a lot a QBs come and go. I haven't been very excited with the QBs that have played since I've been a fan. I just want to tell you that myself and my family are extremly happy that you are our QB in Detroit, and we would not want it any other way. My question is, How do you spend your off season? Do you get together with any of the other players on the team and work on plays? Thankyou for taking thr time to read this, and good luck next season. Michael St.Croix

--Michael St.Croix - Grand Haven, MI
A) After the season ends in early January, most of the team leaves Detroit. I go back to Portland to see family and friends for a few months. It usually takes about a month to recover from a long football season which starts the previous July. I love to play golf so I look for every opportunity to play even though it can get pretty wet in Oregon. I start conditioning and weight lifting in February. It's tough to get together with other teammates since we are so spread out. That's why we all come back to Detroit and start working out together at the start of April. Thanks.
Q) Hey Joey I'm a die hard lions fan born and raised in the Detriot area I just want to say I think 2005 is going to be a big year for you guys. I'm a big suporter and fan of you I just wanted to know what area you personally think you need to improve on for next year. I know detroit fans and media can be tough but keep your head up and improving and this town will love you when you get lions back in the playoff's. God bless

--Matt Craska - Clinton Township, MI
A) I think the biggest thing I am looking forward to this season is working with a consistent group of receivers for the full year. Injuries can change that in a hurry as we have seen the last few years. Timing and anticipation are a big part of any passing game and we just need more time together.
Q) Are you in anyway realted to the the poker great Dan Harrington?

--Daniel Ryan - Munising, MI
A) I have not met him but have watched him on TV. My relatives tell me he is a first cousin to my grandfather. So, I guess, that makes us second cousins.
Q) What's Up Joey? I just wanted to say that I am a huge fan of yours and the Detroit Lions. I originally grew up near the Detroit area, and wear my Lions colors proudly in Minnesota. I also wanted to say that it was very nice to meet you in Jacksonville at the NFL Experience during Super Bowl week. It was just too bad you were out in that rain\cold. Take care and good luck this season. I'll be watching on DirecTV.

--Thomas Rydel - Woodbury, MN
A) Keep wearing those Lions colors up north in Minnesota. We appreciate your support.
Q) Hey There Joey, I know you really enjoy listening to & playing jazz music. Who are some of the jazz artists you listen to? I know you'll have a great season this fall! ~April Staebler, MI

--April Staebler - Brighton, MI
A) I really like all kinds of jazz. It can range from Miles Davis to Herbie Hancock to Harry Connick Jr. For me playing or listening to jazz is just a great way for me to relax. Since I have been home in Portland I have enjoyed dropping in on my favorite jazz club to listen to some very talented musicians. During football season I just don't have the time.
Q) I am on board the USS Abraham Lincoln, and we are returning home from Humanitarian Aid to tsunami victims in Indonesia. While the expirience was very rewarding, it is still hard to be away from my family, and I just wanted to say that watching you this year has been very exciting and has made my time at sea much easier. Since I am returning home, I was wondering if you are planning any public appearances or performances in Oregon in the near future. If not, see you on the field next year!

--Ryan Hall - Seattle, WA
A) First of all, I want to thank you for the effort to help those who suffered such a disaster. It was a good reminder of what we take for granted. I will be back in Detroit at the beginning of April but plans are under way for our third summer concert in Portland to benefit the Shriners Hospital. We have not yet confirmed a date but it will be sometime in the last week of June. Last year's venue, Pioner Courthouse Square, was great and our plans are to have it there again. Hope to see you there.
