Q) Hi Joey, Looking forward to watching you and our Lions turn this season around starting with the Ravens this Sunday. How much are we missing Cory Schlesinger? We sure need Sledge in there to open up some running room for Kevin and give you another proficient receiver to pass to. GO LIONS! Jeannie Pletcher Westland, MI

--Jeannie Pletcher - Westland, MI
A) There is no doubt we miss Cory. He helps our team in a lot of ways and we are hoping he will be back soon. But Paul Smith has done a good job in stepping in for Cory. It will be great to have them both as we get deeper into the season.
Q) Hi Joey! Are you superstitious (Mom Spelled this)before a game? Do you believe doing things a certain way helps with getting good luck? I have my lucky cap and shirt that I've been wearing, Mom rubs my lucky cap when the Lions need some luck........Dylan Craig Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich.

--Dylan Craig - Grosse Pointe Woods, MI
A) I'm not too superstitious. I usually like to listen to the same music before a game. Right now we are looking for anything that will bring us some good luck so tell your mom to keep rubbing your cap.
Q) Hello Joey, My question is are you excited with this weeks match up against Tampa Bay? If you are,Is there something you like the most about this match up? I'm looking forward to this game myself, I believe Detroit will end the game with the W. Good luck this week, and stay healthy. Thank you for your time, Mike St.Croix Grand Haven, MI

--Michael St.Croix - Grand Haven, MI
A) It was good to have a week off after the loss to Chicago to regroup but we are all looking forward to playing this Sunday. I don't think it matters that it is Tampa Bay, we just want to get back on the field against someone.
Q) Hey Joey! I am a Chicago Bears fan and was really upset to see you struggle against their defense because I'm an even bigger Joey Harrington fan and love to watch you and the Lions succeed. But keep your head up cause I still believe in you. You can't let one game bring you down. So my question is after a tough game what do you do to keep yourself in a positive mood? You are one of the best rolemodels I have and I wish the best for you the rest of the season! I BELIEVE IN YOU!

--Daniel Omastiak - Oak Lawn, IL
A) Thanks for your support. I have to say that I hate to lose. A loss can grind on you for awhile but I have learned you have to quickly move on, learn from mistakes and have faith the next weekend will be better. Seeking out others who are postive, friends, family and teammates really helps keep me positive.
Q) Hey Joey, I know it's hard to come out of a game like the one yesterday with much optimism, but I admired the way you hung in there and did your best to lead the team, even when things seemed out of reach. Make no question about it, this is YOUR team, and as bad as the numbers may look on paper, you showed toughness by hanging in there in the face of a fierce pass rush and all of the odds stacked against you. Don't listen to all of the sports-writers and so called "Experts" that try to hang the whole team on your shoulders. This team will come together. It's one game, and even though it was a bad game, the sun will rise the next day, and you will play again and win again. Hang in there, Joe Cool!

--Billy Donald - Louisville, KY
A) Thanks for the encouragement. I have received a lot of emails like yours.
Q) Shake off the Bears game Joe, once you guys got down the (team as a whole) didn't get it done... it happens, no one expects that any team is going to be undefeated. The Lions are 1-1 and tied in first place in the NFC North. Don't fret over the int's, the educated fan understands that at the half the game was at a point where it was going to be rough. As a person that has stressed and lost sleep over problems at the office, I can tell you that dwelling on the past is no way to move forward. I usually will learn where I can from mistakes and breakdowns, identify how I can help to fix the issue, then move way past them... or drink a bottle of red wine and vent to my wife. Either way its win-win. Troy Aikman did a great job of explaining the processes of the game as it went on, he let it be known that there were alot of breakdowns and by no means was Joey Harrington responsible for it all. You have always been one of my favorite atheletes because you seem like a very intelligent, cultured, and gifted individual... thanks for being a Lion.

--Robert Jones - Ypsilanti, MI
A) I appreciate a lot of the letters like yours. We are moving on.
Q) Joey, As I'm sure you already know, quarterbacks are judged by their resilience week after week, not by their performance in one game. You have what it takes to get the job done as a leader and a QB in the NFL. Keep up the hard work, it will pay off. And the question: Can the Ducks get it done against USC on 9/24/05, and are you going to be at the game (since you've got a bye week)? GO DUCKS!! Reed Heiligman, Chicago, IL.

--Reed Heiligman - Chicago, IL
A) You are right, Reed. If you don't have resilience you can't last long in the NFL. I appreciate your note and the many other letters of support I have been receiving. It was a tough weekend but we can come back. For the Ducks, anything can happen in Autzen Stadium. SC has not heard noise like this before and it will be a factor in the game. I am going to drop by and see the coaches and visit my youngest brother who is a manager on the team but I am going up Saturday to the University of Idaho to watch another brother who plays for the Vandals.
Q) Great job in the game against Green Bay. Big win! Now is the time to make it 2-0 in the division against Chicago. Question...do you see more deep balls to CRog and Roy? Also, how do you like having a TE the caliber of Marcus Pollard?

--Jamie Roe - Arlington, VA
A) The deep balls are going to come. Especially, as teams have to gear up to play Kevin at the line of scrimmage. Marcus is tremendous. He's a great TE with lots of experience which helps all of us on the team. More importantly, he's a great guy who I really respect. We have become pretty good golfing partners as well.
Q) Joey, I just wanted to congratulate you on the win against Green Bay. My husband and I are huge LION fans and hoping for a SuperBowl. You guys can do it. My brother-in-law is a Packers fan living in MI also so I was glad that we can rub our win in his face. Lila-Dearborn, MI

--Lila Chami - Dearborn, MI
A) Sunday was a really good win for us. Anytime you beat the Packers it's a good win. We didn't play as well as we can or will on offense but our defense was terrific. In the NFL you can only enjoy a win for a short time and then it's on to the next game. We looking forward to keeping it rolling against the Bears.
Q) Joey, First - in full disclosure - I am a BIG Packers fan - however, I have to congratulate you on your win Sunday it was great to see you doing so well and to beat one of the best quarterbacks currently in the NFL (of course, I am now marked for death by any Packers fan reading this). Do you still find time to play the piano while practicing and traveling? Do you still have the nickname "Bones"? Congrat's again on the win - we will look for the revenge match in December at Lambeau. Keep up the good work - GO LIONS! Dennis

--Dennis Meade - La Crescenta, CA
A) It is a thrill just to play against Brett and watch one of the greatest QB's of all time. Of course, beating his team is even better. I play the piano just for relaxation and enjoyment at home. There's no other time during the season. I have never heard the nickname 'Bones". New one to me.
