Q) Hi Joey... Thank you very much for your class, strong work ethic and charity work in the community! This long time Lions fan has appreciated your efforts from Day 1... I will miss cheering for you in a Detroit uniform. I wish you all the best in Miami and it will be GREAT to see you back in Detroit on Thanksgiving and in the Playoffs... You deserve it! By the way what uniform # will you be wearing with the Dolphins? Respectfully yours, Michael L. Noon

--Michael Noon - Waterford, MI
A) Thanks a lot. I'm not sure exactly what number I will have but hope to have #3 if it's not taken. Someone pointed out that then I wouldn't have to change my website address!
Q) Hello Joey, First of all congratulations on the trade. I am a huge Lions fan and I'm a huge fan of yours. I've seen you play quite a few times and i have always enjoyed your presence on and off the field. I am sad that you are leaving the Lions but I know you will florish with your new team. I am very proud of you and your family and I will continue to follow your career in Miami. You are one of a kind. I am a musician myself playing guitar and piano all my life so I appreciate that side of you too. my comments to you come from my heart and its more important than my question actually. I was just wondering about your role with the Dolphins. How quickly do you think you'll be able to adjust to the new system and is it much different than what you're use to with the Lions?

--Michael Muscat - Windsor, AZ
A) The system will be different for sure but I will pick it up quickly enough. The bigger challenge is getting to know a new group of receivers and begin to work on timing with them as they run their routes.
Q) Joey - Grew up a huge Lion and became a huge Joey Harrington fan. I am sorry things did not work out in Detroit. On behalf of many Lions fans, I'd like to thank you for handling yourself with class and dignity through what must have 4 very difficult seasons. You have a lot to be proud of and you set a great example for young football players and young children every where in terms of handling yourself professionaly, with dignity, with class, and with respect. Good luck in Miami. I will remain a Lion fan but wish you well and nothing but good luck as your career moves forward!

A) Those are very nice words and I really appreciate them. Thanks.
Q) As a big duck and dolphin fan I would like to know when we can expect your dolphin jersey to become on sale! I look forward to seeing you in a dolphin uniform.

--Jake Marshall - Silver Spring, MD
A) First, I just need to get down to Miami and get a jersey for myself so I can begin practice. After that I am sure we will have some stuff to purchase on the foundation website. Thanks.
Q) Joey, Congratulations on the trade with the Miami Dolphins going through. I grew up in Michigan and have been a Lions fan since the 1970's, but I'll be rooting for you and the Dolphins this year (including Thanksgiving Day). I am curious if you are any relation to the John Harrington who played end for the Cleveland Browns in the 1940's. I recall that you once posted that all of the first sons in your family are named 'John', and that you go by your middle name to avoid confusion with your father. Thank you for all that you did for the Lions, and for the youth in Detroit and Portland. I wish you and the foundation continued success. Joel Wagoner Jenkintown, PA

--Joel Wagoner - Jenkintown, PA
A) I am not familiar with John Harrington of the Browns in the 40's, although my grandfather had a chance to play for the Chicago Bears in 1942 but enlisted in the service during WW II. Thanks for the nice words about our foundation. We will continue to work with helping youth as the mission of the foundation.
Q) Joey, Big time fan, Oregon season ticket holder and went to the first concert with you, Jason Mraz and John Popper. First of all have to say, for a football player nice job of the ivorys you rock. It was cool to see you play with professional musicians and hold your own. Also, my wife and I went to see you play up in Seattle when you were with the lions. If they only had a line, oh well. My question is, "When is the next big show?" I admire the fact that you give back to the community, and in our house you will always have fans as you are the #3 that lead Oregon to a great 2000 season.... Thanks Joey and good luck in Miami... Frankie

A) I am still waiting to find out where I am heading for next season so I can't set a date for a summer concert yet. When I was with the Lions I knew the mini-camp schedule early and it was easier. Every team's spring schedule is different so it puts me in a difficult position for setting a date for the summer concert this year. Hopefully, I will know soon. Thanks for asking.
Q) Dear Joey, This isn't really a question, more of a comment. I've watched you your entire professional career, and must say there's no one more professional than you. I admire your focus last year with all you went though. You're a great rolemodel that I can only hope my son can grow to be like. Good luck with your future, I just wish i wasn't going to be in Iraq for it. I'll be back for the playoffs so you better be there. Good luck. SSgt Samuel Lewis McChord AFB Wa

--Sam Lewis - Tacoma, WA
A) I plan on being in the playoffs so you plan on being back here to watch. Thanks for your service to all of us!
Q) Mr. Harrington: I am so excited to hear about your impending employment with the Miami Dolphins. Although I remain a loyal fan of the Lions, you have been a bright spot in an otherwise darkened franchise and I wish you the very best in your new endeavor. You have shown the NFL world what class and integrity actually look like, and for that I thank you. Every man has his boiling point, but you handled your imminent departure from Detroit with the usual honor and veracity that is befitting you (at least from my perspective). Knowing only a fraction of what you had to endure while in Detroit, I can honestly say that the strength you posess comes from deep within, and you will take that with you to Miami. Being from Florida I will have the opportunity to follow your career here, and I look forward to it. You are definitely worthy of the title of "role model". Take care, good luck, and God Bless. - Eric R. Mills Tampa, FL

--Eric Mills - Oldsmar, FL
A) It's not quite done yet but I look forward to a new start in Miami. Thanks for those very nice thoughts.
Q) Joey, Longtime fan, first time I've submitted a question. First, let me say that you are the epitome of class, poise, dignity, and respect in the NFL, and that so many players could learn so much from how you've carried yourself, not only in Detroit, but at Oregon and off the field as well. Your charity does wonderful work, and I plan on doing my part in helping the Harrington Family, and the Harrington Family Foundation. My question(s) is (are), after reading that you're most likely headed to Miami, are you looking forward to playing for Nick Saban, playing in the AFC, in the AFC East (with the dynastic Pats), and where you will be on the same team as Daunte Culpepper? How do you feel about playing for a coach who has never had a losing record, and do you think your Detroit experience will help you in Miami? Be well, and may God bless you and your family in all your life, Cristiano Spinato

--Cristiano Spinato - Columbus, AK
A) I appreciate any support of the foundation you can give along the way. Thanks. Nick Saban impressed me from the time I met him and in the follow up conversations I have had with him and his staff. They are commited to winning with a very structured plan on how to do it. I appreciate that approach. They have promised me an honest shot to play, with no guarantees, and I appreciate that as well. Through my career, prior to Detroit, I have always enjoyed competing for a position. I think the Dolphins have a great mix of young talent with good veteran leadership which is really necessary to win consistently in the NFL.
Q) Hey Joey, I just want to wish you luck. I know you had it rough in Detroit and I just want to wish you a fresh start somewhere else. I was also wondering if you are still having your concert in June. It would be great to see you perform as a lion one last time. Austin Lowes Sault Ste. Marie Michigan

--austin lowes - sault ste marie, MI
A) We still have plans for the concert but I am waiting to see what my spring mini-camp schedule will be before I can finalize a date.
