Q) Hi Joey It's my birthday today. can you say something for me please? It would really make me super. Thanks! :) Saisai

--Saisai Milford - Madison Heights, MI
A) Sorry I missed your birthday Saisai but I would have said HAPPY BIRTHDAY if I were there.
Q) Joey, I just want to say that I am so glad you are a part of the Dolphins! I wanted Miami to trade for you for the past two or three years now. You really took charge this past year and it looked like you had a lot of fun too. I love the way you lead and the chemistry you have with the team. I am proud that the quarterback of my team has such heart and is a great person. That was awesome what you did for those people in Oregon with the moving van. I pray and wish that you remain a Dolphin for the rest of your career! May God Bless you and keep you safe and successful in all you do! Dan Buffalo, NY

--Dan Barone - Cheektowaga, NY
A) I did have fun. As I have said in responses to emails to this website, it was a good chance to start over and discover that enjoyment of playing football again. There are some great people on the Miami roster who I enjoyed playing with this season. Helping those people who moved to Oregon and lost all their personal possessions was just the right thing to do. There were a lot of local businesses who helped out as well. Thanks.
Q) I don't have a question but I just wanted to let you know that as a fellow UO Alumni it is great to see such a giving individual do what he can to help people. I was born and raised in Oregon but now live in CA and keep up on the news up in Oregon. I just read what you did for the family that moved from Oklahoma that's items were all stolen. It was so wonderful to see you do such a great thing for them. Oregonian's are wonderful people and I know you, along w/ many other Oregonians, are helping that family and they must be overjoyed w/ all the wonderful caring people up there. Even though I am in CA my roots are in OR and such as yourself I give back to my wonderful state as much as I can. You set a great example to young athletes and I just wanted to let you know that. :) Go Ducks! Debbie Albright UO Class of 92 Chico, CA

--Debbie Albright - Chico, CA
A) That's nice of you to say but it was just the right thing to do for a family in need. That was a tough way to be introduced to Oregon having everything stolen. There were a lot of other business people who jumped in and helped as well.
Q) As a fan, the Super Bowl has not even been over for a week yet and I find my self longing for anything football related to follow... NFL Europe, Draft Combine, Arena League, anything to pass the time until camps open. As a player do you find yourself going nuts too or is this really a chance for you to relax... PS, what do you think of Oregon's latest 'draft' class?

--Brett Laidlaw - Vernon, CT
A) I think you would find that most players in the NFL once their season is over want to get away from football for awhile. For many players it can take months to get over the bumps and bruises of the season. I usually will take January off and just relax and even let my diet slide a little. If I can fit in some golf during the off season that's great too. By February I am back into a workout routine. I began working this week with a trainer who I have worked with for the past five years. The fact of the matter is that you can't afford to get out of shape if you want to continue a career in the NFL. Of course, we will all be back in NFL camps this spring. Regarding the draft class for the Ducks it looks like they did pretty well on paper but you never know for about 3 years how it's going to play out. I have seen some big name recruits never get on the field and that happens at every school. There are especially guys in every recruiting class who were offered late and may end up being 3-4 starters. Right now I'm pretty excited about Duck basketball and am following them closely. Thanks.
Q) I recently purchased one of your green Miami Dolphins jerseys. I live in the small town of Griffith, IN. (Near Chicago) I wore the jersey to school the other day in a high school that is infested with Bears fans. It also happened to be the Friday before the Superbowl. I don't know how many times I was asked why I was wearing your jersey in a town so far away from Miami. I happily responded "Because Joey Harrington was one of just two QBs to go INTO Soldier Field this year and come out with a win!" Just to let you know, there are Joey Harrington fans no matter where you go! Keep up the good work, you are a great role model.

--Jeremy Ratajczyk - Griffith, IN
A) Jeremy, You are pretty brave to wear it before a Chicago Super Bowl. I think playing and beating the Bears this fall might have been less pressure. Thanks.
Q) Hey Joey! I can't wait for next season to start, as I'm sure other fans are just as excited! I feel this is going to be a great season for both you and the Dolphins. I have faith in you! Good luck and take care.

--Dacia Sigler - Pembroke Pines, FL
A) Despite the coaching changes I think we will have a good group of players coming back and I'm looking forward to a good year as well. Thanks.
Q) I just wanted to say that you did an incredible job this past season and really gave us fans a reason to watch. I was wondering what you thought of the new coach Cam Cameron or if you've even met him. I look forward to hearing good things from the Dolphins and hopefully a winning season next season. I have full faith in you and the Miami Dolphins as a whole; if the New Orleans Saints can do as well as they did this year with a new coach than you guys can do it next year. Good luck and thanks for the good effort this season. Jessica Robinson, Greencastle, IN

--Jessica Robinson - Greencastle, IN
A) I haven't had a chance to meet Coach Cameron yet. I just missed him when I was in Miami last week. He was out of town. However, we have spoken on the phone and he sounds like a nice guy with a very good football background. I'm looking forward to next season.
Q) Hi Joey. Happy new year! First off I want to thank you for the year you gave us Dolphin fans. I loved the determination and grit you showed. I thought you were put in a tough situation since all the pieces arent in place on the offense yet but I thought you got the most out of it that could be expected. So thanks again. I got a couple of questions for you. One, it seemed to me like you had improved as a quarterback from your Detroit days. Did you feel that you became a better QB in Miami? Two, have you spoken to our new coach Cam Cameron yet and do you feel you'll have a chance to be the starter for our team next year. I really think Cameron's offensive system is perfect for your talents and I think you could have a huge breakout year if you're given a chance. I know there are some politics involved in football so it could be that you may not get that chance but I really hope Cameron gives you that opportunity because I think you'll run with it and never look back. Adam

A) I enjoyed myself a lot in Miami this season. I don't know it was so much that I was a better QB but the offense suited my style of play. I was more comfortable in the Miami offense. I had a chance to talk with Coach Cameron on the phone right after he was hired and he seems like he will be a good man to play for this season.
Q) Hi Joey-- Greetings again from Eugene! I just want to congratulate you in a strong season, and thought you did a wonderful job! I wish coaches and owners would give players enough time to work together and build continuity and I'm hoping next year you will have the opportunities you had this year (and more) to show the world what you can do. Stay strong & keep the faith!

--Zazzie Hathaway - Eugene, OR
A) Always good to hear from Eugene. Professional football is so different from college for a lot of reasons. For players, free agency means you will probably not have the same team roster together for very many years. The salary cap for teams also means that good players can get released or traded. Of course, coaches getting fired or leaving for a better offer can disrupt a team checmistry as well. In five years I have seen all of this.
Q) Joey; It seems like everyone now-a-days has a myspace. I was just wondering if you have a myspace web page?

--Randy Schroeder - Redford, MI
A) I have been asked this quite a few times and I have to say that I am not involved in any myspace web page. The only thing I am contributing to is our family's foundation website.
